project planning workshop

project management

How good the plans are can make life easy or difficult in a project and can even determine success or failure.  Indeed, in repeated surveys, poor plans have been cited as a very common cause of failure.  This workshop is geared to planning your own project(s) well.  It covers a wide 'toolbox' of techniques that help you find and solve problems while planning, not in the project itself.  The workshop covers the powerful 'product' planning techniques and then goes on to activity and resource planning.

This workshop is delivered on your own site and is a combination of teaching on the techniques and then practical work to plan out your live projects.

Planning group

the product led planning approach

We strongly recommend using Product  Project Planning techniques  they are extremely powerful and can then make activity planning both more accurate and faster.  This workshop covers planning techniques in full detail, shows the power of the product led approach and also shows clearly how they lead in to the better known activity planning techniques such as the Gantt Chart.

Inspirandum has worked with product planning in many different projects and we can show you just how to use this approach to maximum effect.

project planning workshop duration   duration

The workshop normally runs for 2 to 3 days depending on the amount of work to be done on the plans and is delivered 'in-company' .  It can be extended on more substantial projects where more help is needed.

project planning suitability   suitable for

Project Managers, project support staff and others involved with the detail of planning.

The idea number for this course is between 8 and 12 people but will work with numbers up to 15.  The workshop can deal with up to 4 projects being planned split between those attending.  It can also be run with groups as small as 3 who are working on a single project.

adjusting the project planning workshop   adjusting the workshop contents

The content can be adjusted where necessary.  For example, if you are already competent in activity planning, you might require the workshop to cover just the product planning parts with course members then going on to do the activity planning after the workshop finishes.
