Risk Management is vital in projects and the lack of it is a common cause of project failure. All projects need risk management but the judgement is always how much of it to do. Clearly high risk projects need more attention but it is a common myth that small projects in particular don't need any at all.

This short and punchy course covers the essentials of project risk management and includes practical work to practice a few simple but extremely effective techniques.

All those attending receive a copy of the Inspirandum project guide on risk management as part of the course materials.

Any staff working with project risk.  That includes Project Managers, Project Sponsors or Project Board members, Team Leaders and project support staff. It is suitable for groups of 3 up to 16 but works best with numbers between 6 and 12.

The course normally runs for 1 day, but can be extended for a further day or more to move into a risk workshop to examine risk on live projects.

 iconcontent1  content

The course covers the vital importance of managing risk effectively in projects. It sets this in the context of some examples of projects that have failed or been badly damaged because risk wasn't properly identified or controlled. It looks at where and how risk should be analysed and managed, not just at the start of the project but through its life, and in practical sessions introduces some powerful but straightforward techniques for risk analysis and management.
