Project and risk management are essential.  Why is it that organisations are so professional about most areas of management - financial, production, HR - with qualified staff and a carefully thought out approach, yet with projects it often seems that, well ... anything goes.  Senior managers don't keep an eye on projects as they do other areas.  They expect them to be late and they expect them to overspend.

At Inspirandum we don't argue that project management is more important than other disciplines, such as finance.  But we do argue that it is as important.
Given the huge organisational impact of project failure, and the continuing high rate of failure, it is necessary to get a grip.  Inspirandum helps organisations and individuals run projects in the best way possible, even if this includes breaking a few "rules" sometimes.  The project is the focus; we help get the job done intelligently.

One excellent approach to project planning and control is the PRINCE2, project method, but only if it is thoroughly understood and then intelligently applied.  We do a great deal to help PRINCE2 Practitioner candidates with the exams, but we are even more strongly focused on people leaving our courses confident that they can apply the method to excellent effect so that it 'earns its keep' on projects - and then some.
